Wroclaw, Poland hosts its second Ukraine vs England showdown in a fortnight on Saturday when the countries’ footballers clash in Euro 2024 Qualifying Group C. However, while London’s Daniel Dubois was a huge underdog against Ukrainian world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk, this time around it’s the English who are priced up at just 2/5 to prevail.

Uncertainty at heart of England’s defence should give Ukraine a sniff

This match may be a face-off between the top ranked teams in Group C, but the Three Lions have been far more convincing than their neutral territory ‘hosts’ so far.

Southgate’s side have already scored 15 times (more than any other nation going into the latest round of qualifying) and conceded only once. Ukraine on the other hand could only beat Malta 1-0 last time out and were forced to come back from 2-0 down to beat North Macedonia 3-2.

An array of attacking talent including Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and smash hit Real Madrid signing Jude Bellingham should ensure England at least match the two goals they put past the Blue and Yellow at Wembley, but a clean sheet looks far from guaranteed given issues in central defence.

Harry Maguire must contend with an unfamiliar, inexperienced partner in Wroclaw as John Stones is injured – Lewis Dunk, Levi Colwill or Mark Gueyhi are in the running.

That’s far from ideal with the error prone Manchester United man certain to be lacking match fitness having played just 23 minutes for his club this season.

Tip: England to win and both teams to score @ 12/5

Evens an act of rare charity about a goal for relentless England skipper

Harry Kane couldn’t look more at home at Bayern Munch if he played in Lederhosen after scoring three times in his first three Bundesliga games, so seeing the even money about him scoring against Ukraine is a cartoonish, eyes-on-stalks punting moment.

The in-form England captain has scored at least once in each of his last six internationals and bagged a brace against North Macedonia in his most recent outing for his country.

His Three Lions teammates also seem to be fouled in the area with unerring regularity – ideal if you’re the designated spot-kick man. They’ve been given five penalties in their last five games.

Tip: Harry Kane to score anytime@ 1/1

Proceed without caution – back a quiet night for the man in black

Ukraine have picked up five yellows and no reds in three group games so far at an average of 1.6 cards a game. England have picked up five yellows and one red in four at an average of 1.75 per game (red cards count as two cards in this market).

Those low caution numbers are easily enough to chance under 3.5 cards here given Luke Shaw’s sending off against Italy was so dubious. The sides played out a one-card contest at Wembley earlier in the group and a repeat feels likely.

Tip: Under 3.5 total match cards @ 5/4
