The Premier League season plays out its final round of games at 16:30 on Sunday, with Everton, Leicester and Leeds all poised to be fighting for their top-flight lives. Only one will stay up.

All three sides face opponents with nothing left to play for barring pride, but they’ve all shown such modest levels of fight against their fate that none can be trusted for betting purposes.

Instead, our EPL betting tips turn to two in-form goalscorers whose recent purple patches have earned them England recalls, along with a shut-out success for a rejuvenated rearguard.

Upwardly mobile Eagle can profit from visit of leaky visitors

Eberechi Eze was called up for an England squad two seasons ago before sustaining a cruciate ligament injury that meant he wasn’t able to participate. Fast forward two years and he’s been in even better form than he had been to justify his first inclusion.

Six of his 10 Premier League goals this term have come in his last eight outings, with several delightful strikes among them. He averages 1.8 shots per game in the EPL this term, but that rises to 2.5 in those eight games and he’s had three efforts in both his last two outings.

That shows the 24-year-old is getting plenty of opportunities as well as making his own and that gives him a great chance of finding the net against the division’s leakiest away defence. Steve Cooper’s side have conceded twice or more in their last seven top flight away games.

Forest’s tendency to ship goals on the road, combined with the inevitable dip in motivation levels after they secured survival with victory over Arsenal last weekend, should be the perfect backdrop for Eze to rubber stamp his Three Lions invite.

Tip: Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace) to score anytime vs Nottingham Forest @ 6/4

Irrepressible hitman the best way to back Magpies at Stamford Bridge

Callum Wilson is finishing the campaign in even finer goal getting fettle than Eze, notching eight times in his last seven appearances as Newcastle secured Champions League qualification.

That notable achievement and the celebration that likely ensued could take the edge off their hunger for this encounter, which is enough to make them an uneasy win bet at 7/5, for all Chelsea remain utterly incoherent and out of sorts.

At the same price, backing Wilson to score feels far more comfortable. The Blues have shipped at least twice in each of their last four home games and could be the more fatigued unit having endured a miserable 4-1 loss at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Tip: Callum Wilson (Newcastle) to score anytime vs Chelsea @ 7/5

Saints’ scoring woes add spice to an away win wager

Liverpool may have missed out on securing a Champions League spot this year, but Jurgen Klopp will take plenty of heart from the much-improved form they’ve been showing in recent weeks.

The Reds are unbeaten in 10, winning seven of their last eight fixtures and their defence has tightened up notably, conceding only one goal in their past four games. That suggests that adding a Liverpool clean sheet to the straight win bet on the visitors looks a nice way to boost our odds.

Southampton seem almost certain to lose, having done so in eight of their last nine games and they’ve also failed to find the net in their past three at St Mary’s.

Tip: Liverpool to win to nil vs Southampton @ 187/100
