I just figured out how to turn this off in Office 365 (so maybe a new option): File > Options > Mail > scroll to the very bottom and there is a checkbox "Highlight flagged items in the message list" When I unchecked that box, my inbox was a lovely white with red flags instead of the confusing yellow highlights all over the place.

Has Restrict Editing been applied to portions of the document? If so, the portions of the document that can be edited will be indicated by a faint yellowish\orange highlight. That highlight will not print, but, the only way to prevent it from appearing is the remove the editing restriction from the document.
