Kirigami Kirigami (切り紙) is a variation of origami, the Japanese art of folding paper. In kirigami, the paper is cut as well as being folded, resulting in a three-dimensional design that stands away from the page. Kirigami typically does not use glue.
Today, kirigami is less known than origami, but it has seen a resurgence as many Japanese as well as Western artists have adapted the idea to create some amazing three-dimensional and intricate artwork.
What is Kirigami? I could define this way, kirigami is symmetrical and an art of folding paper which is cut by scissors to make flower, paper doll, paper snowflake and other designs.
