The have a new Virtuosi EE-flat tuba in a similar price range to Besson 981/982. They also include other brass band instruments in their 'Virtuosi' range (Euphonium, Baritone, Tenor Horn etc), endorsed by some of the leading UK brass band players.

All I can say is wow. I played it for about 20 minutes at Bloke's house, and my goodness what a sound that thing could produce. If you don't know the Packer is a "copy" of the PT-15, and my goodness it is just an amazing instrument. I didn't have an F tuba mouthpiece, and didn't wanna both Bloke with rigging one up so I used whatever came in the case, like it matters. First note it just sang ...

Because of their smaller numbers, the Martin tuba design has a somewhat small cult following including myself, but it isn't as popular or as revered as some other designs like the famous and often-copied York designs, but I think if more people had the opportunity to try one, it likely would be more popular and more copied.
