Thanks. TextFree is definitely one to keep an eye on for possible future use. I wish I could remember original login credentials from 2011 to see if they still work... If you haven't been using it monthly it has probably been cancelled.
It worked better if I called from the TextFree contacts list from within the app. If I tried choosing a contact from my main contacts app, then choosing TextFree for the call, the dialpad would open but without the number inserted. I'd try to exit and the app window would minimize.
However, TextFree also cancelled some of my long time numbers, and seem to ignore my appeal request to recover. That's the biggest downside, the risk of TextNow or TextFree cancelling your number, even if you've had it for years. Are there others that are completely free?
