Unless I’m missing it somewhere, I can’t seem to find a direct comparison between the 2 if comparing the RS1 to an HST-18 in a 4 cu/ft sealed box (with the same SP plate amp). Are they comparable, or would one out perform the other in different areas (ie ULF, mid bass etc.). Any thoughts?

Also, the JTR RS2 and RS1 don’t seem unreasonably large for what they are. Can your design only accommodate a 12” sub depth? That seems very restrictive. The JTR RS2 and RS1 are known great choices. PSA S21 IPAL-M’s would also be excellent, but the cabinets are basically 24” cubes. Other good choices are Harbottle C18’s or Deep Sea Sound.

JTR RS1 hands down….the PSA subs are ok for the price but you will hear its limitations where the JTR will just keep slamming you in the chest with a flat response into single digits.
