I have a pair of the Rectilinear IIIa from the original owner. There were a few tweeters blown and i did replace them with non originals. I have all the original paperwork. Manual and warranty card.

The Rectilinear III's in both versions give room-filling "boomy" bass which is the bees knees no matter what you are listening to as far as music selection and IMO it will be nearly impossible to replicate it without spending thousands of dollars on hifi speakers and then still you may need to add a subwoofer.

The Rectilinear IIIs seem pretty well balanced, bottom to top, the bass being none too forward or lacking, no adjustments necessary imo. Perhaps the Warfedales are a bit soft or unbalanced in the bass but to ones liking Here's a Julian Hirsch 1967 Rectilinear III review which seems to match what hear when comparing to speakers such as my Quad 57s:
