It seems in line with the Wikipedia definition: In the field of inventory management, a stock keeping unit is a distinct type of item for sale.
The Win32_BIOS class does have the serial number, but that's different than HP's product number (P/N). Which I have recently discovered is call System SKU by Microsoft and Product SKU by SMBios. The registry and MS_SystemInformation class does store this P/N I am looking for.
As I mentioned, the license available at the link Olaf provided makes no specific mention of LocalDB. It only makes mention of SQL Express. I can find nothing "official" from Microsoft that says that LocalDB is both supported and licensed for redistribution with a commercial product.
