You can try bracing it to the house by attaching steel brackets of some sort to the chimney and structure of the house to buy you a year, maybe, but even then i wouldnt want a couple 2x4's to hold up thousands of pounds of brick and masonry. Is there just that one flue in the chimney?

The past few days, creosote is running down the outside of the pipe that is inside the house, between the ceiling and the stove. The exterior pipe looks fine. The house has radiator heat. The boiler kicks on intermittently when the thermostat shows that the house is 4-5 degrees above the set temperature. Is this a design feature of high efficiency boilers since it may take a while to bring the house up to temp with radiators or is there something wrong with the thermostat or boiler control?
