If you as a Christian suffer for doing wrong, that is just the normal, expected outcome. That is not persecution. So if Christians go ally themselves with wrong doers, or violent extremist groups and suddenly find themselves on watch lists - that is NOT persecution. That is just people doing stupid and bad things and getting in trouble for it.
Persecution in Alberta. I took some time and listened to the video. First discovery was the intro by Justin Peters. After listening to that for about 5 minutes, I had enough and skipped on to the sermon. Discovered that covered about 30 minutes of the video. In my opinion, introductions should be brief and be gone.

Why should Paul discuss persecution in his letters in great detail to provide comfort if Jesus already mentions? The book provides encouragement and reassurement to Christians tempted to apostasize in any generation, whether it be to a Roman imperial cult or into the apathy of American consumerism.
That's a quote from Matthew 10, and if you bothered to actually read the Bible, it would be immediately obvious from the context that Jesus was referring to the persecution that his followers would soon face.

Gestapo tactics would involve beating down those students with blunt force. Instead, they experienced mild harassment which they probably interpreted as persecution.
