Bunga is the adoptive nephew of Timon and Pumbaa, Kion 's best friend, a former member of the Lion Guard, and a current member of the Night Pride. His specialty is his bravery. He is the deuteragonist of The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar as well as Seasons 1 and 2 of its follow-up series The Lion Guard and the tritagonist in Season 3.

Kion ordered Bunga to get the egg, and Bunga obediently snatched the egg out of the hyenas' clutches while the rest of the Lion Guard drove the hyenas out. Once the hyenas had gone, the egg hatched into Ono.
Bunga is a hyperactive, irrepressible, and extremely daring honey badger who frequently leaps into danger, often without considering the consequences and improvising to the best of his ability. Because of this, it can sometimes take him time to grasp the seriousness of a situation.

In Bunga and the King, Bunga is revealed to be Kion's uncle. In Friends to the End, Bunga was worried that Kion would turn evil because of his scar, but he says even if Kion turns evil, he'll still be on his side. Bunga was ecstatic when his best friend/nephew became king. Just call me Uncle Bunga.
