When Shō arrives, he gets a glimpse of Arrietty, a Borrower girl, hiding in the plants. At night, Arrietty's father, Pod, takes her on her first "borrowing" mission, to get sugar and tissue paper. After obtaining a sugar cube from the kitchen, they travel to a bedroom which they enter through a dollhouse.

Arrietty is a worthy addition to the Studio Ghibli canon, with animation that matches some of the best of the studio's past efforts. It's the first film directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, and it's based on the novel The Borrowers by English author Mary Norton.

Arrietty Clock is the protagonist of The Secret World of Arrietty. She is the daughter of Pod Clock and Homily Clock who is a Borrower. Arrietty is a 14-year-old girl with shoulder-length thick wavy auburn hair fair skin and very dark black eyes.
