For NATO, the Arctic is our northern flank. The Regional Plan North West covers the Atlantic and the European Arctic under the command of Allied Joint Force Command Norfolk. Its mission is to safeguard the sea lines of communication between North America and Europe and to ensure the Alliance’s posture supports operations in Arctic conditions.
