Wow the Remmy 700 ADL in 7mm Mag that I just purchased at Walmart Sunday 2/24/13 was only $417 before taxes plus the Rem 3x9x40 scope. Sounds like a great deal other than I have to ship it to Remington for repairs...
You can find an entry level 700 ADL cabelas/Sportsmans/Bass pro special and do the same. You can also take that $400 ADL, drop it in a McMillan, Jewell trigger, Top it with a Swaro and be the envy of the hunting camp. Or find and old Walnut take-off stock, classic Leupold scope and go old school wood and steel.
I've got an ADL in .30-06 and it is the most accurate rifle I own. Using Texnmidwest's 700 in .243 I was able to put 5 rounds through one .289" hole at a little over 100 yards.
