The death of former U.S. Attorney Jessica Aber came after she had suffered from a "longstanding medical issue," multiple reports say.
Her family reiterated that it is believed Aber died from natural causes and said she "suffered from epilepsy and epileptic seizures for many years." The case will remain open until the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner rules on the manner and cause of death, police said.
Aber, the former U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found dead on Beverly Drive on March 22. She was 43. Her family previously said she had epilepsy and died in her sleep.
Jessica Diane Aber ( – ) was an American attorney who served as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA) from 2021 to 2025.
Aber was also involved in the DOJ’s unprecedented indictment against four Russian soldiers who allegedly committed war crimes against an American living in Ukraine.
