Wimbledon is here and both the men’s and women’s singles outright betting markets have a great each-way shape to them. Both of our selections are taken to make hay in the bottom half of their brackets.

Hurkacz well positioned to go very close on Halle evidence
There’s a substantial gulf between the top three in the men’s singles outright betting and everyone else. Favourite Jannik Sinner is 13/8, Carlos Alcaraz is 12/5 and Novak Djokovic is 3/1 – the rest of the field are all available at 16/1 or more.
Sinner and Alcaraz are both in the top half of the draw, meaning they’re on course to meet each other in a second successive grand slam final.
Djokovic is in the bottom half of the bracket and with the Serbian having not played since withdrawing injured before his French Open quarter final that looks the side of the draw where the most each-way value is to be found.
Polish world number seven Hurbert Hurkacz looks ideal material for this type of wager given how close he pushed Sinner in the final of the recent Halle grass court tourney.
Hurkacz comfortably disposed of world number four Alexander Zverev in the semis in Germany before coming off on the wrong of tie-breaks in both sets against the Italian.
With Djokovic, short of form and fitness, considered the biggest barrier to him making the final, the Pole must be decent value at several times the price.
Tip: Men’s singles: Hubert Hurkacz to win @ 16/1 (each-way)
Kasatkina has grass chops to exploit very fortunate draw
The bottom half of the ladies singles draw has to be the place to go fishing for each-way value against 10/3 favourite Iga Swiatek, who herself has never got beyond the quarters at SW19.
Swiatek is in the top half of the bracket alongside third-favourite (and 2022 winner) Elena Rybakina, last year’s champion Marketa Vondrousova, finalist in the last two editions Ons Jabeur and world number five and recent Berlin winner Jessica Pegula.
By contrast world number two Coco Gauff is the only real big fish in the bottom half, following the injury withdrawal of Aryna Sabalenka and the American has never gotten beyond round four at the All England Club.
Among the other players in that side of the draw Daria Kasatkina appeals as the type to go well at an each-way price having won her warm-up tournament on turf at Eastbourne, where she’d also reached the final a year ago.
Tip: Ladies’ singles: Daria Kasatkina to win @ 20/1(each-way)
