The 23rd matchweek of the Premier League season is upon us and Manchester City vs Chelsea is the unrivalled glamour fixture, but with both sides hard to call at present our best bets are sourced from elsewhere on the coupon.

There are at least 10 reasons Brighton are too short at home to Everton, while Forest are generously priced to get something out of their own south coast sojourn and improving Palace are a strong fancy at home to Jekyll-and-Hyde Brentford.

Drawn-prone Seagulls far too short to topple Toffees

Brighton have to be on the skinny side at 13/20 to beat Everton, whether you put much stock in the Toffees 3-2 win over Tottenham last time out or not. Fabian Hürzeler’s side draw too often.

The Seagulls have shared the points an EPL-high 10 times in 22 games this term, with six of those coming over the course of their 10 Amex Stadium assignments.

David Moyes’ side have drawn two of their past three meetings with the south coast club and, having also drawn three of their past five league away games, another stalemate feels generously priced at nearly 3/1.

Tip: Brighton vs Everton – Draw @ 14/5

Flying Forest could just shade beleaguered Bournemouth

Nottingham Forest may have ruined last one of last weekend’s best bets with their second-half complacency against Southampton, but in fairness to Nuno Espirito Santo’s men they had the match won by half-time, having gone in with a 3-0 lead.

Forest held on for their fifth win in six Premier League games, making them the division’s most in-form club in that timeframe and, with Bournemouth missing 10 players through injury, there’s plenty to like about City Ground side at 7/5 draw no bet.

Bournemouth battered Newcastle 4-1 at St James’ Park last week in spite of their packed treatment room, but may struggle to repeat that performance against Nuno’s well-oiled counter-attackers.

The Cherries have only lost twice at the Vitality Stadium this term, suggesting the draw is a big runner, but Forest are the league’s second-best away side, having racked up an impressive seven wins from 11 road outings, losing only twice. They could shade it at a decent price.

Tip: Nottm Forest to beat Bournemouth (draw no bet) @ 7/5

Palace a fair price to beat poor travellers at Selhurst

Crystal Palace have left their slow start to the campaign behind and Oliver Glasner’s men have now tasted defeat just once in their last 14 league games, winning three of their past four.

The Eagles have to come under consideration at evens to beat Brentford at Selhurst Park as a result, even before the Bees’ Jekyll and Hyde home and away form is considered.

Only Arsenal have amassed more points at home than Thomas Frank’s men this term, but the story couldn’t be more different on the road. Brentford have lost seven of their 10 away league games. Only Southampton have claimed less points on their travels.

Tip: Crystal Palace to beat Brentford @ Evens
