Palace can score on their way down to earth following new boss bounce
Crystal Palace were a confident selection for us last week as they looked far too big at evens to beat Burnley in their first outing under new manager Oliver Glasner. They duly prevailed 3-0 but took 68 minutes to get off the mark despite the Clarets having Josh Brownhill sent off after 35 minutes.
A trip to Tottenham will be an entirely different kettle of fish and the Lilywhites, five points off the top four with a game in hand, are 1/2 favourites for the win at their eponymous stadium.
Spurs have won their last five meetings with Palace and a healthy five of their last six home games so there’s a strong suspicion they have enough to see off their visitors. However, the Eagles can net in the process, helping us land the Tottenham win and both teams to score wager at odds of 7/4.
Both sides have netted in 20 of the Lilywhites’ 25 league games this term, including 11 of their 13 top-flight home games and the reverse fixture at Selhurst Park last October. Palace should be capable of keeping up their side of the bargain having netted in seven of their last eight league aways.
Tip: Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace & both teams to score @ 7/4
In-form Imps a Sincil banker to stave off Stevenage as playoff push continues
Lincoln City may sit tenth in League One but they’re a side on the up. The Imps sit top of the division’s six-game form table having won five and drawn of their last six third-tier fixtures.
That run has seen them move to within eight points of Stevenage in the final playoff spot and victory at Sincil Bank will narrow the gap further. The Boro are 7/5 favourites for victory in Lincolnshire but look a vulnerable win prospect having prevailed in only three of their last eight in all competitions.
Their hosts are 19/10 outsiders for victory despite their strong recent form and the fact they have the best home defensive record in the division. They’ve shut out four of their past five visitors, including high fliers Peterborough and Derby.
Lincoln have drawn five of their last 10 League One home games however, so the 21/20 about Michael Skubala’s side with draw-no-bet protection looks the way to go here.
Tip: Lincoln City to beat Stevenage (Draw no Bet) @ 21/20
Draw the play as Stockport’s goal drought collides with serial stalematers
Colchester are out of the fourth tier drop zone after swapping a streak of seven league losses in eight with a streak of six draws from their last eight League Two outings.
That must make the draw a big runner at 7/5 when they host a Stockport side stuttering in second place in the division. Dave Challinor’s men have been short of goal-scoring inspiration in recent fixtures, failing to score in their last three outings.
