Manchester City and Manchester United face off at Wembley for the second consecutive Manchester derby FA Cup final at Wembley this Sunday with City just 2/13 to lift the trophy.

Pep Guardiola’s side are just 1/3 to secure the win in normal time, while United are 7/1 to upset the just-crowned Premier League champions and the draw after 90 minutes is a 17/4 shot.

Our Man City vs Man United predictions expect the occasion to bring teams of widely differing calibre closer together – in keeping with a tradition common to many recent finals.

Occasion can reduce quality gap for second successive season

City have prevailed in both Manchester derbies this term – 3-0 at Old Trafford and 3-1 at the Etihad – but there’s reason to suspect that this match could be a closer run thing on the scoreboard.

FA Cup finals are almost always tight. Of the 24 played this century, 18 were won in normal time with 14 of those decided by a single goal, including the Cityzens’ 2-1 triumph over United last season.

Despite United’s inconsistent and often indifferent form in 2023/24 they have shown time and again that they can give the best sides a difficult game. Their recent 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford is one example, their 4-3 win over Liverpool after extra time in the FA Cup quarter final is another.

Given City’s imperious form this season it’s very difficult to envisage them failing to win this in normal time, but we won’t complain when you get 19/10 about a one-goal winning for either side.

Tip: Match winning margin – one goal @ 19/10

Perennially underrated scorer shout value to net as always

Over the course of last season and this one the ‘world class midfielder’ plaudits have been steadily piling up for City lynchpin Rodri, but the Spaniard remains under-recognised in one key aspect. The odds compilers continue to underestimate him as a goalscorer.

Rodri is 31/10 to net anytime in the FA Cup final – promising a higher return on your wager than Oscar Bobb and Jeremy Doku (2/1) and trading at the same odds as Matheus Nunes.

Yet only Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva have outscored the selection for City this season with the former Atletico Madrid man averaging 1.8 shots per game in the EPL.

Having netted in his team’s title-sealing win over West Ham last time out, Guardiola’s most underrated goal threat is a very fair price to bag in back-to-back appearances.

Tip: Rodri to score anytime @ 31/10

City can cover the corners line on their on this season’s evidence

The corners markets are undoubtedly one of the more esoteric areas available to the football bettor and seldom one we dabble with on these pages. However, the 11.5-corner line is begging for us to take a position here, with the overs priced up at 20/21.

In the two Manchester derbies contested so far this season City have cleared that mark on their own with 15 at the Etihad and 12 in the reverse fixture,

Tip: Over 11.5 corners @ 20/21
