The EPL returns from its international break and FA Cup hiatus with an engrossing midweek slate including the Merseyside derby on Wednesday evening.

Everton inspire a trend-related wager at Anfield, as do Crystal Palace at St Mary’s, while the return of Bukayo Saka from injury is expected to make the difference for Arsenal against Fulham.

Return of the Sak should inspire Gunners past Fulham

Arsenal and Fulham played out a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage this season and there’s reason to suspect the return fixture may stop some way short of goal fest territory too.

An EPL-high 62% of Gunners games have rewarded under 2.5 goals bettors this term, while 79% of the Cottagers’ away sorties in the top flight have landed below the 3.5-goals line.

That suggests an unders kicker is the way to tease value from the 4/11-rated home win, which we expect Bukayo Saka to inspire on his first start since injuring a hamstring in December.

Despite missing the last three months, Saka still has twice as many assists (10) as any other Arsenal player – a statistic that highlights both his brilliance and his team’s limitations.

Arsenal are even money to win a match of under 3.5 goals and should get the job done against visitors softened up in an FA Cup defeat at the weekend.

Soaring Eagles value to win with a cushion at St Mary’s

Crystal Palace visit rock-bottom Southampton on Wednesday night in search of their seventh successive away win in all competitions.

The Eagles are just 4/7 for three points against hosts that have lost nine of their last 10 on all fronts, but look well worth chancing to overcome a (-1) handicap at better odds of 13/8.

Palace haven’t conceded a goal on their last seven road trips, so could well only need to bag twice to land our wager.

They’ve netted twice or more in every one of their six consecutive away victories, whereas the Saints have conceded three or more in seven of their past nine home league games.

Tip: Crystal Palace (-1) to beat Southampton @ 13/8

Tough-to-topple Toffees a big price for rare Anfield point

Liverpool endured something of a blip before the international break, losing to Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United in consecutive games.

The time out may have been restorative, but it has also provided time for unsettling speculation to swirl around the various Reds stars that are out of contract in the summer.

Arne Slot’s men are just 3/10 to return to winning ways when Everton come to visit and that could be worth taking on in the circumstances, with the 19/5-rated draw.

Everton last avoided defeat at Anfield in February 2021, but they’re unbeaten in two Merseyside Derbies now, as well as their last nine Premier League games under David Moyes.

A repeat of that Richarlison and Gylfi Siggurdsson inspired smash and grab would delight the travelling Toffees, but a second stalemate between the two sides this season looks more likely. The Goodison Park side have drawn five of their last six league games.

Tip: Liverpool vs Everton – Draw @ 19/5
