The Club World Cup is officially in full swing with the second round of Group Stage games beginning on Thursday and as with the first set of ties there’s some value to be had in identifying the manner in which the tournament’s big fish will record their inevitable victories.
Betzone offer attractive prices about Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid to win comfortably, but Boca Juniors can be backed to give Bayern Munich a tougher time than Auckland City did.
Outright picks to seal progress with another comfortable win
Paris Saint-Germain were our pre-tournament outright picks and showed no sign of a dip in intensity following their Champions League success when beating Atletico Madrid 4-0 in their first fixture at the Club World Cup.
Luis Enrique’s side were two-up and well on top even before Clement Lenglet’s 78th-minute sending off, so they should be able to come home clear of Botafogo by three-goal margin.
The reigning Copa Libertadores winners were holding on at the end of their 2-1 win over the Seattle Sounders, with the MLS side the better of the two teams for long periods and missing at least one gilt-edged chance to secure the draw.

Boca have the threat to land a blow on Bundesliga winners
Bayern Munich hammered part-timers Auckland City 10-0 in their opening fixture in the USA, a farcical stroll which will do little to ready them for the sterner challenge posed by Boca Juniors.
Boca will be kicking themselves for not closing out victory over Benfica after going 2-0 up, but the result still shows them capable of finding the net against good quality European opposition.
Bayern’s enviable strength in depth means they should ultimately have too much for the Buenos Aires side, but Vincent Kompany’s men have conceded at least once in four of their last seven away from the Allianz Arena and could well let a goal slip.

Back Real to repeat the dose in Intercontinental Cup rerun
In a competition featuring clubs from across the world, recent head-to-head form is something to cherish and Real Madrid’s clash with Pachuca of Mexico is a repeat of the Intercontinental Cup Final watched by almost nobody and contested on December 18 last year.
Los Blancos prevailed 3-0 on that prestigious occasion and, with so little time having elapsed since, look value to win again by at least the same margin having bolstered their squad with assist machine Trent Alexander-Arnold already this summer.
