The 2024 Super Bowl – or Super Bowl LIX for fans of roman numerals – takes place this Sunday evening at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, with the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles kicking off at 23.30 UK time.
KC are 4/5 money line favourites as they bid to make NFL history by becoming the first franchise to win three consecutive Super Bowls. Philly, beaten 38-35 by the Chiefs in the 2022 edition are 20/21 underdogs as they bid for big-game revenge.

Back brilliant defences to avoid repeat of high-scoring 2022 edition
North of 70 points rained down when these two sides contested the Super Bowl two years ago, but the closest thing to a pick ‘em totals line is way south of that score at 48.5 this time around.
There are plenty of reasons to suggest the sum of points procured could be lower still, with the odds against about under 46.5 making some appeal at 11/10.
Philadelphia (2nd) and Kansas City (4th) both ranked inside the top four defences for points conceded during the regular season with 17.82 and 19.18 respectively.
Both shipped significantly more in their conference championship games, but that should only sharpen their resolve with regard to the defensive side of the match-up in ‘the Big Easy’.
It’s unlikely the Chiefs will be cutting loose on the scoring front with their 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills the first time they’d notched up more than 30 points all season. ]
While the Eagles broke the NFL record for points in a post season game against NFC match-up opponents Washington, 22 of the 55 they registered came during the fourth quarter as Commanders errors conspired to carry the game away from Dan Quinn’s men.
Pick: Under 46.5 Total Points @ 11/10
KC to cover with their big game pedigree to make the difference
The Betzone odds compilers are pricing this years’ Super Bowl up as a really close call, but there’s one huge differential between the adversaries, the importance of which is tough to overestimate.
Kansas City, their coach and the core of their team, have contested an incredible four of the last five Super Bowls, winning three of them.
Each of those victories saw them prevail by three points or more, including their 2022 triumph over the Eagles and, with so many of the main protagonists for Philly also unchanged, history is expected to repeat itself both in terms of the victors and the margin of their victory.
Sorry Nick Siriani, Jaylen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, but history will be made in New Orleans.
