Extra time beckons in Geneva on qualifying evidence

Norway and Italy played each other twice in qualifying for this tournament, drawing 0-0 in Oslo, before sharing the spoils 1-1 in the return fixture in Ferrara.

Betzone go 11/4 about a draw featuring under 2.5 goals and that looks a fair price on the evidence of the teams’ group stage efforts.

The Azzurre managed a moderate three goals, including notching just once against Portugal and Belgium sides hit for five and six by Spain respectively.

Norway did manage to net eight times in Group A, but were aided by own goals in 2-1 wins over Finland and Switzerland, padding their GF column with four against rock bottom Iceland.

Women’s Euro: World Cup winners should dispense with hosts easily

Spain have been in prolific form so far in Switzerland, putting five past Portugal, six past Belgium and three past Italy.

As such it’s little surprise to see them trading at just 1/12 to beat the host nation, for whom reaching the knockout stages was a considerable achievement.

Montserrat Tomé’s reigning world champions thrashed the Swiss 5-1, 5-0 and 7-1 during the space of five months in 2023 and should be capable of handing out another beatdown in Bern.

They’re 6/4 to overcome a (-3) handicap for the third time in four matches at this tournament.

Women’s Euro: Germany opposable after last group game implosion

France look like attractive favourites at 23/20 to beat Germany, having topped Group D with a perfect record that included a very respectable 2-1 win over England.

Laurent Bonadei’s side beat the Germans 2-1 in a home Nations League qualifier when they last locked horns in February 2024 and will have been heartened by the way the DFB-Frauen unraveled against Sweden last time out.

Germany took a seventh-minute lead against the Scandinavians, their first serious opponents at Euro 2025, but were already 2-1 down when Carlotta Wamser was sent off for handballing on the line after 31 minutes, going on to lose 4-1.

Having seen off England, Les Bleues are likely to be similarly unforgiving of any German defensive weakness and could get in front early given their opponents having shipped in the 26th minute or earlier in two of their three outings in Switzerland.
