The Club World Cup has reached the last eight stage, with the first of the four quarter-finals to be played out between Manchester City’s conquerors Al Hilal and Palmeiras of Brazil in Orlando, Florida on Friday evening.
Simone Inzaghi’s Saudis are backed to return to a more restrained scoreline after their 4-3 extra time win over the English side, while elsewhere Paris Saint-Germain can snap an unwanted streak and the second-half of Palmeiras vs Chelsea looks full of promise.
Read on for our last eight predictions.
Last Eight: PSG to gain further revenge over UCL league phase conquerors
Paris Saint-Germain have already avenged one Champions League league phase defeat at this tournament when turning over Atletico Madrid 4-0 in the group stage.
Luis Enrique’s side are a decent price to again show just how much they stepped up going into 2025 when they face Bayern Munich, who bested them 1-0 at the Allianz Arena in November.
Die Roten have won the clubs’ last four clashes to-nil but seem defensively susceptible in the USA, shipping in every game so far bar the 10-0 beatdown of part-timers Auckland City.
PSG battered the Inter Milan team that knocked Bayern out the UCL 5-0 in the final and should have enough to get past the Bavarians on that evidence.

Last Eight: Bet on usually-disciplined defences to produce at least one blank
Fluminense and Al Hilal have both been involved in one ding-dong battle so far – the Brazilians’ 4-2 win over Ulsan HD and the Saudis’ 4-3 extra time win over Manchester City.
However, those high-scoring affairs were the exceptions. Flu have kept three clean sheets in four games, including a brace of 0-0 draws, while their Riyadh-based opponents shut out Red Bull Salzburg and Pachuca and limited Real Madrid to a single goal.
Under 2.5 goals comes under serious consideration at 17/20 as a result, but at larger odds of 21/20, both teams to score – No, looks better value in this battle of two sides more than capable of keeping clean sheets.

Last Eight: Back second half to see lion’s share of the scoring in Philadelphia
The 6/5 on offer about the second half being the highest-scoring half when Palmeiras face Chelsea looks well worth getting involved with when considering a few pertinent stats.
Just one goal has been netted across the four first-halves the Brazilians have played at this tournament while Chelsea are yet to concede before the interval in four outings.
After the break, however, the Blues CWC games have served up seven strikes, while their Sao-Paolo-based opponents have seen a much larger six netted versus the one scored in their first halves.
