Royal Ascot 2025 begins this Tuesday and all 35 races at the regally-patronised five-day flat festival will broadcast free for terrestrial viewers on either ITV1 or ITV4.
Our best bets for the meeting include plays against the likely favourites in the Queen Anne Stakes (2.30 Tuesday), the Prince of Wales’s Stakes (4.20 Wednesday), the Royal Hunt Cup (5.00 Wednesday) and the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (3.40 Saturday).

Royal Ascot 2025: Gosdens’ class jumper could improve past well-matched rivals
The Queen Anne Stakes (2.30 Tuesday) sees last month’s Lockinge 1-2-3-4 renew hostilities, with third Rosallion and fourth Notable Speech having the potential to reverse the form past winner Lead Artist and second Dancing Gemini having faced those match-fit rivals on their first runs of the season.
However, the fact remains that the quartet finished within three lengths of one another and being so closely-matched they could be vulnerable to an improving rival such as SARDINAN WARRIOR.
John & Thady Gosden’s four-year-old put away season Ascot straight mile performer and last season’s Queen Anne second Docklands over course and distance on his first start of term and it speaks volumes of his handlers’ confidence he can step up that he’s thrown in at the deep end after just seven runs.

Royal Ascot 2025: Match-fit Anmaat can turn the tables on his Curragh conqueror
Likely Prince of Wales’s Stakes (4.20 Wednesday) favourite Los Angeles’ half-length victory over ANMAAT in the Tattersall’s Gold Cup looks the key piece of form in the race, with the 123-rated pair 5lbs clear of the field on official ratings.
The latter’s trainer Owen Burrows is optimistic his charge can turn the tables at Ascot given it was the seven-year-old’s first start of the season at the Curragh, where his rival had had a tune-up outing.
A course-and-distance scorer when downing more fancied rivals Calandagan and Economics in last season’s Group 1 Champion Stakes, he can even the score with a run under his belt.

Royal Ascot 2025: Yardstick highlights each-way play against Royal Hunt Cup jolly
Ante-post favourite My Cloud (5/1) has been touted as the proverbial ‘Group horse in a handicap’ in many quarters ahead of the Royal Hunt Cup (5.00 Wednesday) and Roger Varian’s lightly-raced four-year-old certainly looks the part, having scored over course and distance on his seasonal return.
That run saw him cruise home by three-and-a-half lengths from Mythical Guest, which highlights the relative value of BULLET POINT. The selection is trading at a fair deal bigger odds than the favourite despite besting the same yardstick by a near identical distance when winning well at Newmarket in April

Royal Ascot 2025: Inisherin can emulate Blue Point with Jubilee Stakes double
French trainer Jerome Reynier’s Group-1-winning globe-trotter Lazzat heads the betting for the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (3.40 Saturday), but is readily passed over for last year’s winner INISHERIN.
The gallic raider handed Flora Of Bermuda a four-length beating in last season’s top-flight Prix Maurice de Gheest – a rival Inisherin could only overcome by a neck on the pairs’ first outing of 2025 at York.
However, that was the selection’s first run following a wind operation as well as his seasonal bow and, with the conventional wisdom being it’s the second run after such a procedure where its full benefit is felt, the proven course and distance scorer can rise to the occasion to land the race again.
That will see him emulate greats such as Blue Point (2018, 2019), Sole Power (2013, 2014) to win back-back runnings of the Saturday Group 1 highlight.
