The sweat has barely dried on a thrilling round of midweek Premier League games yet the action returns on Saturday with another full slate of top-flight fixtures.

Brentford vs Liverpool could contain a weekend’s worth of goals on its own, while Forest look great value to prove more than one too good for Southampton and Brighton look value at Old Trafford given their recent head to head record against the hosts.

Bees goals best way to back Gtech X factor for Liverpool visit

Brentford are the team with the highest home total match goals average in the Premier League this season (4.55), while visiting Liverpool have the highest away equivalent (4.00).

It’s hardly surprising over 3.5 goals is a mere 17/20 as a result – it’s copped in eight of the Bees’ 11 top-flight run outs at the Gtech Community Stadium and five of Liverpool’s 10 road games.

Punters on the hunt for an odds-against overs bet must chance at least five goals are netted for their 2/1 and on balance backing Brentford to net at least twice makes more appeal at 17/10.

Thomas Frank’s side have bagged a division-high 29 home goals this season, notching twice or more in eight of their 11 outings in front of their own partisans. Meanwhile Liverpool have kept just one clean sheet in their last six EPL away games, shipping at least twice in four of them.

Tip: Over 1.5 Brentford goals vs Liverpool @ 17/10

Forest should get by toothless Saints with something to spare

Nottingham Forest landed one of our midweek best bets in their 1-1 City Ground draw with Liverpool on Wednesday in a performance which suggested Nuno Esprito Santo’s side are nowhere near the end of the golden run that has propelled them to third in the table.

Bottom of the league Southampton aren’t expected to stand in the way of another win for this season’s surprise package, with the City Ground side just 2/5 to claim the three points. More seductive odds of 6/4 can be found by backing Forest to overcome a (-1) handicap.

The Saints have scored just six goals in 11 away league games this season so two for the hosts should be enough to land the wager and they’ve bagged twice or more in six of their last seven top-flight outings.

Tip: Nottingham Forest (-1) to beat Southampton @ 11/10

One-sided recent head-to-head means away value at Old Trafford

Fans and bookmakers appear to have short memories when it comes to Manchester United, with Ruben Amorim’s side odds-on to beat Brighton at Old Trafford following respectable away draws against Liverpool and Manchester United and a slightly lucky 3-1 win over Southampton.

United rising above their usual mediocrity against the big sides has been par for the course during the club’s post Alex Ferguson doldrums and 20/21 about the home win doesn’t excite.

Brighton are 12/5 for victory despite having won five of their past six league games against the Red Devils, including at the Amex Stadium earlier this term. That looks like value, but the 6/4 about the Seagulls draw no bet is preferred. They’ve drawn half their 20 EPL games in 2024/25.

Tip: Brighton to beat Man Utd (draw no bet) @ 6/4
