England are 6/5 favourites to win their Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland in Dusseldorf at 17:00 on Saturday, but Murat Yakin’s 13/5 outsiders have plenty in their favour as they bid to reach the last four for the first time in their history.

Swiss underdog status questionable given body of work in Germany
England are only favourites to beat Switzerland on the strength of the quality their players show for their clubs. They have to be taken on in the win-draw-win market.
The Swiss are priced up as 13/5 underdogs for victory in normal time despite having easily the better body of work in the tournament so and they look a good bet at 6/4 wih the draw no bet concession.
Murat Yakin’s side ended Hungary’s eight-match unbeaten run in competitive internationals and came very close to beating the hosts in their final group game before falling to an injury-time equaliser. Italy were comfortably seen off in the round of 16.
England, on the other hand, were good for about 25 minutes against Serbia, dour and disjointed against Denmark and Slovenia and 60-odd second seconds from doom against Slovakia.
On top of that Crystal Palace centre-half Mark Guehi, arguably the Three Lions’ most consistent player at Euro 2024 and assister of Jude Bellingham’s Slovakia equaliser is suspended for the quarters after picking up a second yellow card last time out

Chance of both teams finding the net greater than the odds suggest
‘No’ is the favourite in both teams to score betting despite all Switzerland’s four outings so far at Euro 2024 having seen both sheets sullied.
‘Yes’ must be the play at 23/20 with only Spain and Germany having outscored the land of watches, army knives and discreet banking facilities at the tournament.
The Swiss goal threat is supremely varied, with their seven strikes each scored by a different member of the squad, but they are also penetrable, having managed to ship to a Scotland side that was comfortably the worst team at these finals in the group stage.

Bologna man great value to net if Yakin opts to start him in central berth
Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna side were this season’s Serie A surprise package, finishing fifth to earn a Europa League place while playing a very compelling brand of football.
The Rossoblu have a strong Swiss influence in Remo Freuler, Michel Aebischer and Dan Ndoye. All three of them have carried their strong club form into Euro 2024 and all three have netted at the tournament.
Ndoye looks the standout to notch anytime versus England at 6/1, especially if started in the central position he has occupied in three of his nation’s four outings so far.
The former Nice and Basel man comfortably leads his country for average shots per game (3.3 to the next best 1.3) and expected goals (1.57 to the next best 0.85).
