England are 3/4 favourites to beat a Kevin-de-Bruyne-less Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday night, with their guests priced up at 10/3 and the draw a 5/2 shot.

Both sides posted dour displays in their weekend friendly assignments and there could be value in backing this clash to follow suit given the injuries to key offensive players in both parties.

Attacking absentees and capable defences point to low scoring encounter

Romelu Lukaku appears likely to play some part when his Belgium side face England but the game will be deprived of several key attacking talents that may otherwise have lit up the occasion.

Belgium will be without their world class conductor in chief Kevin de Bruyne, with the Manchester City star’s absence keenly felt in the Red Devils’ dour 0-0 draw against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Saturday.

If anything, hosts England are even more blunted, with captain and all-time leading scorer Harry Kane plus Bukayo Saka missing from Gareth Southgate’s forward line and dynamic full-backs Kyle Walker, Luke Shaw and Trent Alexander Arnold all unavailable for selection.

The Three Lions created precious little as they toiled against a new-look Brazil Defense in West London at the weekend. They’re unlikely to fare any better against a Belgium rearguard that have kept five clean sheets in seven internationals since the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

Dominico Tedesco’s visitors were far from fluent themselves against the Republic of Ireland, managing just two shots on target and only avoided a demoralising defeat of their own thanks to Evan Ferguson’s penalty miss.

A low-scoring affair seems certain to be on the agenda, which brings the draw (5/2) and under 2.5 goals (8/11) firmly into play. The two wagers are readily combined, with odds of 10/3 a fair price.

Tip: Draw & Under 2.5 goals @ 10/3

Double-bagel draw a nice price considering sides Saturday showings

Correct score wagers of either 0-0 or 1-1 both fit our advised draw and under 2.5 goals bet. Of the pair, the former, priced up at 9/1 looks a good deal better value than the latter (6/1).

Both England and Belgium blanked at the weekend. The visitors’ propensity for keeping clean sheets has already been noted, while Southgate’s men have conceded once or less in all of their 11 games since the last World Cup, keeping five clean sheets in that sequence.

Further evidence that the hosts can keep up their side of the bargain comes in the shape of their form in front of goal in recent matches, even when the likes of Kane and Saka have been available.

Two of the three goals they netted across their final two Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia were own goals.

Tip: Correct score 0-0 @ 9/1
