Arsenal take on Everton at the Emirates a little more than three weeks after deservedly losing 1-0 at Goodison Park in the Toffees’ first match under the management of Sean Dyche.

That result has proven to have been a slightly misleading omen for both clubs, with the Gunners still top of the Premier League and Dyche’s men back in the relegation zone. The north London side are prohibitive 1/3 favourites for a home win but there’s still plenty of value to be found.

Toffees toothless on their travels

Nine Premier League teams have conceded less home goals than Arsenal this season, with Mikel Arteta’s men having shipped 14 times in 11 league games at the Emirates. Nonetheless there’s plenty to suggest they can shut out Everton.

Five of those home concessions came during their recent EPL meetings with Manchester United and Manchester City. Goal shy Everton are away off matching the potency of those sides’ attacks.

The Toffees are the division’s second-lowest away scorers, managing just six goals in 11 top-flight road games. They’re also light on options up top.

Leading striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to return from injury in time for this game, while Neal Maupay failed to impress against Villa to the extent that Dyche may prefer to go with recalled loanee Ellis Simms or Demarai Gray in the central striker’s role against the Gunners.

Tip: Arsenal to win to nil @ 1/1

Patience to prove a virtue for league leaders

The Gunners have been winning at the break in just four of their 11 Premier League home games so far in 2022/23 and it’s been six home games in all competitions since they last went in at half time with an advantage.

Everton have been in the type of form to frustrate their hosts too, having gone in at half time level or in front in five of their 11 EPL away games so far this season. Just one of their four matches under Dyche has seen them trail at the interval.

The relegation battlers will find surviving to the final whistle a lot harder, with the second half typically when Arsenal come on strong at the Emirates. A chunky 18 of their 25 home league goals have been converted in the second half.

Tip: Half-Time Full Time – Draw – Arsenal @ 3/1

“Onana, that’s the name” – for your cards bet

Belgium international midfielder Amadou Onana has been one of the bright points in Everton’s season, playing with an eye-catching combination of class and physicality.

It’s the latter aspect of the 21-year-old’s game that appeals to the betting instincts here. Onana has picked up seven Premier League yellows already this season and comes into this game in red-hot (or should that be yellow-hot?) card-copping form.

The Everton midfielder has picked up seven bookings in his last 14 outings for club and country and will do well to avoid the notebook for his second successive meeting with Arsenal.

The Gunners are the fourth most fouled team in the top-flight this term, being fouled 11.6 times a game on average and boast the division’s 18th most fouled player in Bukayo Saka, who Onana may called upon to assist Toffees left-back Vitaly Mykoleno in dealing with.

Tip: Amadou Onana to get a yellow card @ 2/1
